Planning

A study timetable that survives a full-time job

Daniel Okonjo5 min read

Most ACCA students work. The plans that hold up are the ones built around the week you actually have, not the one you wish you had.

The single most common cause of a failed sitting is not difficulty. It is a timetable built in week one for an idealised student and abandoned by week five.

Build backwards from the exam date. Reserve the final three weeks entirely for question practice and mocks — no new content. Then divide the remaining weeks by the number of chapters, and be honest about how many hours a week you genuinely have.

Protect two sessions a week as non-negotiable and treat everything else as a bonus. A plan with slack survives a bad week; a plan running at capacity fails on the first Tuesday you have to work late.
